Now, I realize 5SOS aren't a small band, but they are still considered up-and-coming. So I'm going to write about them.
Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin formed the band late 2011 in western Sydney, and are now getting ready to pretty much take over the world. Their music influences include Busted, All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Blink-182, and even Ed Sheeran.
The first time I heard them was when I saw their cover of "Jasey Rae" on YouTube. That's how they started- YouTube. It was really cool, actually, they only did covers and they weren't the best of quality (usually recorded on iPhone's and such) but they would get a ton of views and positive reviews. To be honest, I loved them too. They were charming boys, especially with their Australian accents, and their voices were amazing. They definitely knew what they were doing.
They just released their first official single "She Looks So Perfect". The EP has actually topped charts in 36 different countries. The track features punk-rock riffs, catchy lyrics, and an upbeat tune that will hhave you singing along in no time. With their steady gaain of loyal bands, 5 Seconds of Summer is definitely a band to watch out for.
